Woman Airlifted After T-Bone Collision

A bakkie and a car collided at the intersection of Ben Swart and 11th Avenue in Innesdal Pretoria.

The bakkie allegedly T-Bone the car, causing it to further collide into a wall. The vehicle was severely mangled, and the woman needed to be extricated with the Jaws of Life. It took approximately and hour to remove her from the vehicle.

The patient was complaining of severe pain to her hips and lower back, and she was treated by the ER24 Advanced Life Support paramedics on the scene.

Once the patient was removed from the vehicle, she was transported by ambulance to the nearby primary school sports field so that the Discovery Medicopter had an available safe landing zone.

She was transported by air ambulance to Johannesburg General Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the bakkie sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Metro police as well as the SAPS were on scene and will be conducting the necessary investigations.
