A woman has been left moderately injured when she was turning onto the N2 highway from Umgeni road around 3 pm this afternoon in Springfield Park. A truck, which usually carries hazardous waste but was fortunately empty at the time, t-boned the woman's VW Golf on the left passenger side.
The impact was quite severe, which saw the truck come to stop almost on top of the Golf. The woman, who was alone in the car, suffered deep lacerations to her arms and was in severe pain. ER24 Advanced Life Support paramedics treated the woman and transported her to Ethekwini Heart Hospital.
The driver of the truck was complaining of pain to his left arm and was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
The cause of the accident will be investigated.
