A man in his twenties was fighting for his water polo team at the Kings Park Olympic Swimming Pool Stadium. He stretched out wide to catch the ball and dislocated his left shoulder.
ER24 paramedics strapped the man's arm in place and Advanced Life Support gave him some medication to take the edge off his pain.
He was transported to the Life Entabeni Hospital for further treatment.
It is as yet uncelar whether the man's extra efforts aided in his team winning the match.
