Policeman Critical After Shooting.

A policeman who is believed to be in thirty’s was shot and sustained a critical gunshot wound to his right leg. His fellow officers rushed him off to the nearby clinic in Inanda C Section to try and render emergency care.

ER24 responded to the call of the wounded officer and found him in the clinic with a gunshot wound to his right leg. The officer had lost a lot of blood and was going into shock. Advanced Life Support Intervention was performed on the patient before being rushed to EThekwini Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

It is believed that the SAPS were looking for suspects in the area when a shootout took place. The officer was struck in the leg which could have been fatal if it was not for the quick thinking of his fellow colleges.
