A woman believed to be in her late twenties, who is a part time employee at a train yard in Springs, was found dead by her colleagues in the yard.
Those that found her explained that she was lying face down with her throat on the last rung of the ladder, and it appeared that she was not breathing. They then turned her on her side and called for an ambulance.
As ER24 East Rand paramedics arrived on the scene, they assessed the woman and found that she had no signs of life. Upon further inspection, they found that she had severe deformity to the back of her neck, which would be an indication of a possible break. It also appeared that she had suffered no other physical injuries and she was declared deceased on the scene.
It is unclear as to whether there was any foul play involved in the woman's death, but the local police department was contacted, and it will be their duty to initiate an investigation.
