Durban ( Pinetown ) M13 West Bound Fields Hill.

Two drivers have been treated for serious injuries after a head on collision on the M13 Fields Hill going towards Kloof this morning.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene to find two light motor vehicles involved in a collision in the right hand lane of the freeway. A elderly gentleman who was driving the one car was found seated in the driver’s seat, he had suffered severe chest and possible neck and back injuries. Advanced Life Support Intervention was performed on the patient before being transported to Life Crompton Hospital for further medical care.

The second driver was found walking around on the scene but had suffered lacerations to his arms and was complaining of neck pains. Paramedics help support the man’s back before been placed onto a trauma board and mobilised through to hospital.

It is believed that the elderly man had just come off Pioneer road from Kloof and joined the M13 in the opposite direction of traffic. The incident took place on the right hand lane of the freeway.

All necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
