Six people have been injured after a taxi rear ended the back of a truck on the on ramp to Camperdown from the N3 east bound this evening.
ER24 Advanced Life Support paramedic arrived on the scene to find the taxi had crashed into the back of the truck and the driver of the taxi was entrapped behind the steering wheel. The Jaws Of Life was needed to extricate the driver from the wreckage while Advanced Life Support intervention was been performed. Five other commuters were treated for various other injuries before being transported to Edendale Hospital for further medical care.
It is unclear who was at fault but while paramedics were on the scene, a few community members started to attack the driver of the truck. The driver was able to break away and lock himself back inside his cabin.
