A 55 year old man in is a serious condition after an accident on Edendale road in Taylors Holt, approximately thirty kilometers outside of Pietermaritzburg.
The man who was driving a Toyota sedan allegedly had a break down and was stationary on the side of the road, he was underneath the vehicle seemingly trying to find the problem and fix it. A Land Rover bakkie carrying a water tank was coming down the road and rear ended the Toyota causing it to roll over the man, and the water tank came off the bakkie also allegedly rolling over his.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene to find the man in a critical state, he was very combative, showing signs of a severe head injury. He was also treated for chest and abdominal injuries before being transported to the Edendale hospital with Advanced Life Support paramedics.
The driver of the bakkie, although severely shaken by the incident, declined transportation to hospital, saying she would rather visit her private doctor at a later state if the need arose.
