Provincial Ambulance T-Boned by Bakkie

A Sedibeng provincial ambulance was allegedly T-boned by a bakkie at the intersection of Old Johannesburg and Houtkop roads in Vereeniging. The collision caused the ambulance to overturn, coming to rest on its roof.

The ambulance was transporting a critically ill, epileptic patient to Kopanong Hospital at the time. ER24 Paramedics from Vereeniging responded to the call, finding four patients on scene. The two paramedics, who were complaining of neck and back pain, and had minor abrasions, were transported to Vereeninging Medi-Clinic. The patient, who remained in a critical condition, was transported to the local Kopanong Hospital. The driver of the bakkie sustained minor injuries only.

The SAPS took statements on scene and will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
