Pedestrian Dies on N14

An unknown male, who was allegedly walking on the N14 highway just after the Swartkops onramp, was knocked down by a motorist.

The man was fatally injured, and according to paramedics on scene was flung almost fifty meters after the impact. Paramedics also said that the man was barely recognisable due to the injuries he had sustained. He was declared deceased on the scene.

The twenty-four year old male driving the vehicle that hit the pedestrian, was treated for shock by ER24 paramedics, and was transported to the Life Fourways Hospital for further management. It is also suspected that he had glass in his eyes, and was complaining of pain to his shoulder. There was a significant amount of damage to his vehicle.

The Muldersdrift SAPS were in attendance.
