A cyclist is in a serious condition after been struck down by a light motor vehicle on Murry Road near Alexander ext this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the cyclist lying in the road in a serious condition. The patient had suffered a severe head injury and multiple abrasions to his body. Advanced Life Support Intervention was performed on the patient before being transported to Edendale Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
It is believed that the cyclist did not see the car coming along Murry road and may have turned in front of the car. The light motor vehicle struck the patient causing him to be catapulted into the air.
