A thirty eight year old police officer is in a serious condition after being shot at the corners of Klipfontein Road and Belgravia Road in Athlone.
The police officer sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken by ER24 ambulance, with the assistance of Life L.S.U, to Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital for further medical care.
It is alleged that a second police officer was also shot and rushed to hospital before paramedics arrived on the scene.
The circumstances around the shooting were unclear to paramedics in attendance.
I know one of those officers... a very kind, helpful person and look at what they done to him. It's not the first time he's been shot. I think he's in the wrong business. Imagine trying to keep the peace and then nearly being murdered yourself. A shame really.
