The man was entering his place of work this morning on Main Reef Road in Benmore. When he opened the gate, he was attacked by the property's watch dogs, two large Rottweilers.
According to ER24 paramedics on the scene, the man's shirt and jeans were torn to shreds as he had been pulled to the ground by the dogs. He used his right arm to shield his face while the dogs attacked, and was trying to get them off him with his left arm. Fortunately the guard on the premises heard the commotion and was familiar with the dogs. He was able to calm the dogs, pull them off the man and close them in to a secure area before paramedics arrived.
The foury-three year old victim sustained several deep cuts and puncture wounds to his right forearm, and a small cut to a finger on his left hand. Upon assessment he said he was feeling pins and needles in his hand, and he was bleeding profusely from the wounds.
Paramedics treated his wounds and managed to control the bleeding, but the man was still in a severe state of shock. After being loaded into the ambulance and being calmed by the paramedics he seemed to not only accept but definitely appreciate the fact that he was indeed lucky to have come out of the situation as well as he did.
