A white Fortuna has been severely mangled after colliding with a truck and trailer on the Koppie Alleen Road intersecting with Jason road between Welkom and Kroonstad.
According to ER24 paramedics on scene, Jason road is a two way stop intersecting with Koppie Alleen road. The truck was travelling down Koppie Alleen road when the Fortuna drove across the intersection. The Fortuna was hit from the drivers side with massive impact.
A woman and her child were waiting at the stop street on the other side of the road in a white Nissan when the Fortuna knocked then knocked them. The Fortuna then came to rest approximately a hundred meters away from the first point of impact.
Sadly, all three occupants in the Fortuna were deceased, a woman and two men, their ages estimated at between thirty five and fourty five years old. Their bodies had sustained severe traumatic injuries, and their vehicle was badly damaged.
The woman and child in the Nissan sustained minor injuries only and were transported to a hospital for monitoring.
The truck driver was left uninjured in the incident.
