Not half an hour after the first fatal collision at the N1 N4 interchange, another vehicle rolled on the N4 near Watermeyer street.
It is unclear as to why the incident occurred, but the single vehicle's driver must have lost control of the vehicle for some reason and rolled. The thirty year old male driver of the vehicle was entrapped inside the mangled vehicle, and ER24 paramedics moved in to treat him as Fire and Rescue Services cut away at the car around him.
He had sustained multiple critical injuries and was semi conscious. The Advanced Life Support paramedic from Pretoria sedated the man and placed him on a manual ventilator to assist with his breathing. After he was removed from the wreck he was further stabilised and transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
This accident may have also contributed to the road closure on the highway, as parts of the vehicle were strewn across the carriageway.
