Three adults and four children have being injured after the vehicle they were travelling in left the road on the R56 about 10km outside Richmond towards Pietermaritzburg this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle that had gone down a 50m embankment. Two adults and four children aged between four and eight had sustained possible neck and back injuries and minor lacerations. The driver sustained minor injuries. All patients were stabilised on the scene and transported to Edendale Hospital by ER24 and EMRS.
It is believed that the driver may have lost control due to wet weather conditions causing the vehicle to go down the embankment and roll.
