Nine Incidents of Stabbings and Shootings in Diepsloot

It may seem bizarre, but within half an hour, there were nine incidents of people being stabbed or shot, in and around Diepsloot near Fourways.

ER24 paramedics were called to assist at the Diepsloot Fire Station for an initial four patients claiming to have been shot. These four patients were brought to the Fire Station in private vehicles, seeking medical attention for their injuries. Two of them had been shot while driving in a taxi along the R511 outside of Diepsloot, the taxi driver had sustained wounds to his chest, and his passenger had wounds to his stomach. The other man was allegedly in a fight when he was shot, and the fourth was also shot while driving in his car.
After paramedics started treating these four and taking them to various waiting ambulances, a fifth person arrived at the Fire Station after claiming to have been shot. Not long after that, another four people arrived, one by one, who had been stabbed, these too were unrelated incidents, allegedly having occurred during various bar fights.

In total, nine patients were treated and transported to surrounding hospitals by the various emergency services. Two people had been shot in the chest, one in the head, one in his leg and one in his stomach. The other four had sustained various stab wounds to their bodies. All patients were treated and were in a in a stable condition with moderate injuries, barring one of the men who had gun shot wounds to his chest, who was in a more serious condition.

The Diepsloot police will now have the difficult task of deciphering exactly what took place in Diepsloot tonight, and whether the shooting incidents were indeed unrelated or not.
