A man to be in his late twenty’s is in a serious condition after crashing his car into a factory wall on Kruisfontein road in Brackenfell this evening.
ER24 along with Metro Rescue arrived on the scene to find the vehicle had crashed into a factory wall but was resting over a trench that ran along the factory wall. The driver was found inside the trench about 3m below the car. Emergency personnel stabilised the car before entering the trench. The man had suffered a possible head injury, along with spinal injury and was in a very serious condition.
The man was stabilised and placed into a specialised basket to help remove him from the trench. He was transported to Tygerberg Hospital in a serious condition.
It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control but it is believed that he may have crashed his car and then tried to get out when he fell into the trench below him. Where he landed was directly underneath the car.
