Another Fatal Car Crash

A black BMW was travelling on the R57 at the Vaalriver Bridge, between Vanderbijlpark and Sasolburg. The driver of the vehicle somehow lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll. No other vehicles were involved.

According to the ER24 Vereeniging Paramedic on the scene the vehicle was in pieces, but five of the six occupants were still entrapped inside. All six occupants are believed to have been between the ages of twenty five and fourty years old, and all were male. One of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, and he was found outside of the vehicle, miraculously having only sustained moderate injuries.

The other five occupants were found lying entangled into one another on the back seat of the car, surrounded by mangled metal, unable to get out or move from each other. The Jaws of Life had to be used to remove the vehicles roof before paramedics could gauge just how serious eachs' injuries were. Two of the five had sustained critical injuries including multiple deep lacerations, multiple fractures and possible head injuries. They needed immediate stabilisation by the Advanced Life Support paramedic before being removed to hospital. The other two had sustained moderate injuries, complaining of neck and back pain and multiple minor cuts and bruises.

The fifth man was found to have sustained multiple fatal injuries in the incident and was declared deceased on the scene. Paramedics suspected that he had broken his neck when the vehicle rolled, which lead to his death.

Exactly what happened to cause this fatal accident is still unknown, and will need to be investigated.
