Barkly West Accident Leaves One Dead

Two vehicles collided between Kimberley and Barkley West, approximately fifteen kilometers before Barkley West. ER24 paramedics were on their way back to their base in their ambulance after dropping another patient off at a hospital when they came across this accident.

The male driver of a Chevrolet sedan was fatally injured, and paramedics declared him deceased on scene. He remained entrapped in his vehicle while Fire and Rescue had to use the Jaws of Life to removed his lifeless body. The vehicle that his car collided with, was unrecognisable according to paramedics on the scene. The paramedic explained that the engine was almost completely disintegrated due to the sever force after impact. It is thus surprising that the two male occupants of the vehicle were left with minor to moderate injuries, one with several cuts on his head and hands, the other with only a cut on his head. They were transported to hospital for medical care.

It is at this stage unclear as to how and why the accident happened, but the overall damage sustained by both vehicles is indicative of a severe, forceful impact.
