Taxi Accident Leaves Two Dead And Fifteen Injured

Two commuters are dead another two have sustained critical injuries and thirteen other have sustained moderate to serious injuries after the taxi they were travelling in over turned on the Old South Coast road near Kenyon Howden road, direction of Merewent.

ER24 paramedics along with other emergency personnel arrived on the scene to find the taxi lying on its side with the commuters found lying on the road. Two passengers were declared deceased on arrival of paramedics due to the traumatic fatal injuries they had sustained.

Two other commuters had sustained critical injuries and needed advanced life support intervention needed to be performed. The remaining patients had suffered moderate to serious injuries and needed a full range of equipment to help stabilise the patients before they were transported to various hospitals In the greater Durban area.

It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would be investigating the incident.
