A 28yr old male has sustained serious injuries to his legs after being attacked by a dog in Pietermaritzburg this morning. The incident took place in Burger street.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man sitting on the floor and blood coming from his legs. Paramedics investigated further to find the man had sustained multiple dog bites to his legs. He was stabilised and transported to Northdale in a serious but stable condition for further medical care.
It is believed that the man was walking along Burger street nearing his home, when a resident in Burger street had opened the gate to drive out, when his dog got out and attacked the man. The reason for the attack is unknow.
