20 Year Old Dies in Collision

It seems that the young lady was travelling on the R42 between Heidelberg and Vereeniging when she lost control of her VW Polo.

The collision occurred approximately five kilometers from Heidelberg where the truck driver saw that the vehicle was out of control, and he swerved trying to avoid the accident. Unfortunately he collided with the passenger side of her car, and the impact caused both vehicles to travel a further five hundred meters while entangled into one another.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the female driver to be still in the vehicle, having sustained multiple traumatic injures. Tragically her injuries were fatal and there was nothing further that the paramedics could do for her. She was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The driver of the truck was in shock. He could not believe what had happened. He was transported to hospital with minor injuries for further monitoring.
