
A man in his 30's has been knocked down by a taxi in the Central Business District of Durban. The incident occurred on the corners of Stanger and Smith Streets leaving the man with multiple critical injuries.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man lying in the middle of the road with multiple broken bones, a suspected fractured pelvis, and a head injury. Advanced Life Support immediately initiated stabilization of the patient, and the man was transported by ambulance to Addington hospital.
The occupants of the taxi all reported no injuries despite the substantial damage to the taxi.
It is unclear as to the exact cause of the accident, but the SAPS was on scene to take statements for further investigation.
