A woman driver had a narrow escape after crashing her car into a wall at high speed on the N3 Durban bound near the pavilion this morning.
ER24 Discovery Medicopter was flying over the area when they noticed the accident. The Helicopter crew then contacted the necessary ground support units to the location. Once paramedics arrived on the scene, they found a single vehicle in the left hand lane with just one occupant in the car.
The driver who was wearing her seat belt, sustained very minor injuries. She was stabilised and transported to Life Westville Hospital for further medical care.
It is believed that the woman was about to change lanes and did not see another car coming from her blind side. The driver lost control and smashed into the wall near the emergency lane.
Traffic was severely affected and a backlog was found all the way to M13 / Paradise Valley bridge. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further.
