Accident Leaves Kids and Drivers Injured

Four Children aged between one and nine and two drivers have been injured after a collision on the R603 between a bakkie and a light motor vehicle occurred this morning.

ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene to find the bakkie had gone down an embankment and the light motor vehicle was found in the middle of the road of the R603. Paramedics approached the light motor vehicle to find the driver a female still seated behind the steering wheel and four children in the car with her. The children were treated for multiple abrasions and lacerations while there mother was treated for a possible fractured arm. The driver of the bakkie was treated for neck and back injuries. They were all stabilised on the scene and transported to various hospitals in the greater Pietermaritzburg area.

It is unclear what caused the accident but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would be investigating the accident.
