Man Suffers Mild Heart Attack After Shooting

A man to be in his mid fifty’s has suffered a mild heart attack after a shootout took place Westmead road in Westmead this morning.

ER24 paramedics rushed to the scene to find SAPS on the scene. A suspect was lying on the floor in a pool of blood while another man was found seated under a tree. Paramedics started treating both patients at the same time. The suspect had suffered a single gunshot wound and was in a serious condition. Paramedics stabilised the man and was transported to RK Khans in a serious condition under police guard.

The second patient who was found under the tree, who is believed to be the owner of the business that the suspects robbed was complaining of pains to his left arm and chest. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he may have had a mild heart attack and needed further medical attention in hospital. The man was transported to St Augustine’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further medical care.

It is believed that a business in Westmead was robbed and while the suspects were trying to get away the business man took chase. It is believed that a shootout took place. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would be investigating the incident further.
