ER24 Operator Saves Toddlers Life.

Just after 11am this morning, a call was made to ER24 national emergency number 084 124, by a man asking for help as he had just found his two year old son in the pool and unresponsive in Randfontein.

The ER24 operator took charge and explained how to do CPR over the phone while an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene. The father was told over the phone how to commence CPR who in turn relayed the information back to his wife. After a while the toddler regained a pulse and started to breathe. Paramedics arrived on the scene shortly afterwards and assessed the little boy. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient before been transported to Krugersdorp Private hospital where he is being monitored by the nursing staff.

Emergency personnel are asking parents once again to be make sure if you have a pool that it is covered by a net. That the pool area has a fence around it and that the gate is locked at all times.
