Nursing Sisters Injured After Car Slides On Oil

Two nursing sisters, believed to be in their late thirties to early fourties, were injured when their car allegedly hit an oil patch on the Mangosuthu highway in Umlazi on their way home from their work shift.

Their car rolled after they lost control, leaving the passenger with multiple serious injuries. She had sustained a possible fracture of her knee, broken ribs, a possible neck injury and internal injuries. The driver was complaining of neck pain only.

ER24 paramedics responded to the scene, explaining that they too slid a way across the road when they hit the oil patch. Fortunately their vehicle remained in control and they were able to get to the two injured patients. They stabilised the women on scene, and transported them to hospital, where they were handed over to staff in a stable condition.

No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the accident.
