ER24 paramedics were called to 14th Avenue in Roodepoort where a truck had rolled. The driver of the truck explained that he was exiting the highway at the N1 14th avenue offramp, where it has been raining heavily since this morning. As he allegedly pushed on the brakes, he told his two colleagues that were with him that he was unable to stop.
As the truck continued down the offramp toward the red robot, the driver attempted to turn into 14th avenue, where the truck began to roll. the truck's trailer became unhinged after they overturned and skidded toward Hendrick Potgieter in oncoming traffic.
Fortunately no other vehicles were involved and the three occupants of the truck sustained only minor to moderate injuries. They will all be transported to a nearby hospital by ER24 road ambulance for further assessment and management. Traffic has been affected severely from Hendrick Potgieter towards the N1 highway. Metropolitan police were on scene to assist.
