ER24 paramedics responded to a call where a head on collision had taken place between a bakkie and a Kia. The incident happened at the corners of Montague and Bosmansdam roads in Century City.
A two month old baby sustained a possible fracture of her skull as she was found to have been ejected from the bakkie after the impact. She was treated on scene by Advanced Life Support paramedics, and was in a stable but critical condition. Another child in the vehicle, an eight year old, sustained what seemed to be a broken left arm. Both children were transported to hospital by ER24 paramedics. The male driver of the bakkie was also transported to hospital by another ambulance service on the scene.
The driver of the Kia refused transportation to hospital as he did not sustain and physical injuries.
