Paramedics from ER24 were called to a CPR in progress on the N2, just before Broadway Road, in the direction of Cape Town.
When paramedics arrived on the scene they found a paramedic student performing CPR on a male patient that is believed to be sixty-years-old.
An advanced life support resuscitation was performed but unfortunately their efforts were unsuccessful.
It is alleged that the man was driving a car, he then pulled over to the side of the road, got out and collapsed dead. A passenger that was in the vehicle said it appeared as though the man was having an asthma attack.
