Two people in their late fifties were injured when their bakkie collided with a light motor vehicle on the Higginson Highway Bridge over the N2 in Chatsworth.
The couple were on their way home from the hospital where the man had had recent heart surgery. He received Advanced Life Support treatment as he was suffering from severe chest pain after the impact. His wife was also transported by ER24 paramedics to a nearby hospital for back and neck pain.
The two occupants of the light motor vehicle sustained no physical injuries and refused transportation to hospital.
