SAPS and ER24, a working partnership!

During July 2009 the ER24 Kimberly branch and ER24 Training Academy hosted members of the SAPS firearms range for a Level three advanced first aid course.
This move was post a minor incident the week before and decided they needed the necessary knowledge for the future in the event of an emergency. After intense week of one on one instruction with their ER24 Lecturers Mr. Andre Jumat and Mr. Caleb Meyers the entire class graduated with a Level three advanced, far more aware of the potential for injuries, how to handle them till an ER24 Ambulance arrives and what to do in an emergency. Due to the nature of their work the curriculum was substantially expanded on and knowledge base increased to allow them to handle the crisis and assist EMS workers when they arrive on the scene.
This exercise has gone a long way to strengthen the relationship with the South African Police Services and the Kimberly branch and it is their intention to be the preferred service provider to the SAPS for any and all emergencies. This exercise has provided the SAPS members with a unique insight into the extraordinary work we do daily in the emergency medical service; it has built bridges and closed the gap in service deliver as a whole.
By providing a holistic service, from front end first aid training, correct primary assistance being rendered by ER24 Qualified First aiders and the rapid treatment and transport of our dedicated crews a patients clinical outcome is improved drastically, well done to Albert and his team for this outstanding initiative.
