Nineteen people were taken to hospital after a bus overturned on the N1 by the Koeberg Interchange, in the direction of Paarl.
Two people sustained serious injuries, four people sustained moderate injuries and thirteen people sustained minor injuries. The patients were taken to various surrounding hospitals for further treatment.
Various emergency service agencies worked together to treat and transport the patients quickly from the scene.
It is unclear what caused the bus to overturn. The N1 in the direction of Paarl at the incident was closed for some time due to the bus blocking the road, traffic was diverted up Koeberg Road around the incident.
