Durban ( Kloof ) M13 East Bound top end of Fields Hill at 11h00 on the 4 August 09

A truck that had mechanical problems this morning broke

down at the top end of Fields Hill, motorist started to slow down for the traffic that was beginning to back log. A taxi driver that did not see the bag log in time slammed on brakes but was unable to stop in time. The taxi slammed into the back of a light motor vehicle and a second vehicle crashed into the back of the tax.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found all three vehicles in the far left hand lane of the freeway. The driver of the taxi and first vehicle told paramedics that they were fine but should see how the driver of the second car was doing. Three occupants of the car were examined and treated for minor injuries. They all wanted to go through to there own doctors for further treatment if necessary.

Traffic was severely affected for an hour until all vehicle were removed from the scene.

Metro Police were in attendance.
