Pietermaritzburg ( New Hanover ) New Grey Town Road at 07H15 on the 17 September 09

A collision this morning between a truck and a light motor vehcile has left the driver in a serious condition and the passenger with minor to moderate injuries. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find a truck had collided into the driver's side of the light motor vehicle.
The driver had already been taken out of the vehicle by EMRS but the patient required Advanced Life Support intervention to be preformed. He was stabilised on the scene and transported to Northdale Hospital in a serious condition. The passenger of the vehicle who was treated for minor to moderate injuries was taken to Grey's Hospital for a further medical treatment.
It is unclear who was at fault in this collision but it is believed that poor visibility and wet roads could have played a factor in this collision.
