Twelve people have been injured in a collision involving two taxis this morning. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find two taxis involved in a collision. One of the taxis had gone up an embankment while the second one was in the road. The commuters were found all seated outside on the pavement.
A female who was sitting in the front of the taxi, when the collision occured was treated for serious injuries. She was stabilised on the scene and transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition. The remaining eleven patients were treated for minor to modearte injuries and transported to various hospitals in the greater Durban area.
It is believed that the first taxi was stationary and was about to collect commuters when the second taxi did not see the other vehicle at a stand still, tried to avoid it but rear ended the taxi. The impact caused the vehicle to leave the raod and go up the embankment. All the injured were from the second taxi.
