Motor Cyclist In Critical Condition.

What was meant to be a good breakfast run with friends on motor bikes, went wrong when a rider came off his bike on the N3 south bound between Balgowan and Lions River this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found a motor bike down the freeway with the rider about 60m in the opposite direction. The patient who is forty nine years of age, was found lying in the right hand lane of the freeway and in a critical condition. He had sustained a serious head injury and a fracture to his right leg. Advanced Life Support intervention had to be performed on the patient. He was intubated and placed on a ventilator before being transported to Greys Hospital by road in a critical condition.

It is unclear what caused the rider to lose control but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further.
