Young Female Escapes Fire.

A eighteen year old female has had a narrow escape and only suffered minor injuries this evening after the granny flat that she was staying in caught a light on Brownie street in Vanderbiljpark.

ER24 arrived on the scene along with the local Fire Department. They found the young girl seated on the verge outside the house with minor lacerations to her feet. Her feet were bandaged before been put in to the ambulance. While the patient was been treated, she informed emergency personnel that her puppy was still inside the house. A paramedic and Fire Fighter went into the house to find the puppy in another room. The puppy had sustained a little smoke inhalation but was happy to be back with his owner. The patient was taken to a local hospital for further medical care.

It is believed that the young girl was sitting in her lounge watching TV, when she realised that her granny flat was on fire. She kicked out her window to escape from the blaze, causing her to cut her feet on the broken glass.

The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the cause of the fire.
