Two people have been seriously injured and a third has sustained minor to moderate injuries after two light motor vehicles collided at the intersection of Nandi Drive and Newlands East this morning.Emergency personnel arrived on the scene to find a VW Polo up against a robot and a VW Golf in the middle of the road. The driver and passenger of the VW Polo was found seated on the pavement and had sustained multiple lacerations to their head. They were also treated for possible neck and back injuries. They were stabilised on the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The third patient who was the driver of the other car had sustained very minor injuries and would go later to her doctor for further medical treatment.
It is unclear who was at fault but Metro Police were on the scene and would investigate the accident.
