Pietermaritzburg ( Claridge ) Otto’s Bluff Road on the 10 March 2010

Seven workers from Cape Town who are busy working in the area on a project have been injured this afternoon after the combi they were travelling in, over turned on the gravel part of Otto’s Bluff Road.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the vehicle lying on its side. Three patients were found lying on the gravel while the remaining four patients were found walking around on the scene. The three that were lying down had suffered multiple lacerations and was complaining of neck pains. They were placed on specialised equipment before been placed into an ambulance. The remaining four patients were treated for minor to moderate injuries. All the patients were transported to Pietermaritzburg Medi-Clinic for further medical treatment.

It is believed that the combi may have had mechanical problems causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and making it roll on the gravel road.
