A 77 year old lady lost both her legs this morning when a bus drove over her at a parking lot in Kempton Park.
Paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene and found the lady still lying under the bus in excruciating pain. On further inspection paramedics found that both her legs from the knees were traumatically amputated when the bus drove over her.
It is not clear how she landed under the wheels of the bus.
Paramedics had to implement Advanced Life Support and sedated her on the scene. She lost huge amounts of blood on the scene and paramedics had to do everything possible to save her life and prevent her from bleeding out.
Due to the severity of her injuries, the Discovery-ER24 Medicopter was contacted to airlift the lady to the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg for further medical treatment.
