Eleven people were treated for inhalation injuries by paramedics from ER24, Metro EMS and the Life ALS Response Unit at a business park in Ndabeni earlier today. The patients were in moderate to minor conditions and taken to Constantiaberg Medi-Clinic, Milnerton Medi-Clinic and Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital for further treatment.
The details around the incident are unclear but it is believed that a machine at one of the companies in the business park caught fire and that the patients inhaled fumes and smoke as a result of the fire.
The Fire Department and Metro Rescue were also in attendance and assisted with the patients on scene.
