Eight police men from SAPS and three civilians have been injured after two taxis collided into one another this morning. When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the police transporter vehicle in the road and a taxi on the pavement. When paramedics went to the vehicles they found majority of the patients lying on the floor and three still seated inside the vehicles. Six police men were treated for serious injuries, ranging from severe concussions to possible neck, back and leg fractures. Another two policeman were treated for minor to moderate injuries. All the policemen were transported by ER24 to Life Entabeni Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Three civilians were treated on the scene by ER24 and EMRS for minor to moderate injuries and transported to a near by Hospital in a stable condition. The cause of the accident is unclear at this present moment in time.
