A member of Parliament is in a serious condition after the vehicle he was travelling in over turned this afternoon. ER24 paramedics rushed to the accident scene which had taken place on the N3 South bound just below the Peter Brown off ramp. On arrival emergency personal found a single vehicle lying on its roof, the driver was found outside seated next to his vehicle. ER24 paramedics assessed the patient and treated him for possible head and neck injuries. The patient was stabilised and transported to Pietermaritzburg Medi-Clinic in a serious but stable condition.
It is believed that the driver was travelling on the N3 North bound, when he lost control and crashed through the centre medium before over turning on to the N3 South bound. It is unclear why the driver lost control but SAPS will be investigating the accident.
