The almost constant rain today has left most of Durban's roads wet and slippery.
On Smith street at about 16h25 a vehicle travelling down the road lost control in the wet conditions, causing it to spin out and hit several vehicles before coming to rest on the pavement against a pillar supporting the roof of Inspecta-Car.
Fortunately the pillar only lost some tiles and the structural integrity of the roof was not compromised. It is alleged that the driver, who is a foreign national was speeding down the road in his converted vehicle when he lost control.
The 2 toned vehicle sporting a personalised number plate for next years 2010 World Cup was severely damaged in the accident. The driver as well as those of the other vehicles were fortunate to escape serious injury.
