A 9yr old boy is in a serious condition after being knocked down by a light motor vehicle in the Mpophomen area this afternoon. The youngster was on his way home along the Clinic road when the incident occurred.
ER24 paramedics who attended the scene, found the patient lying on the floor, clutching his chest and gasping for air. Paramedics noticed that most of the damage to the Mercedes Benz had been to the front end. The patient was examined for any further injuries before been placed on a specialised device to assist with moment and placed into the ambulance. The young boy was transported to Northdale Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
ER24 would like to urge motorist to be more vigilant and decrease speed in areas where school children are know to be, especially around the time that schools break up for the day.
