Cape Town [Delft] Symphony Way on 15 October 2009 at 08h05

A collision between two taxis at the intersection of Symphony Way and Erica Drive in Delft, has led to twenty people being transported to hospital from the scene. When emergency services arrived on the scene they found both taxis in the intersection, of which one was lying on its side.

Fourteen high school children from one of the taxis sustained minor injuries, another five people from the other taxi also sustained minor injuries and one patient sustained moderate injuries. The patients were taken by ER24 and Metro EMS ambulances to Delft Day Hospital and Tygerberg Hospital for further treatment.

It is alleged that the taxi found lying on its side was "T-boned" by the other taxi which caused it to overturn. Police and traffic officials helped to regulate traffic around the incident but the collision still caused a delay in travelling time.
