Seventeen people were injured in a collision involving a taxi and two other vehicles on the N2, at the Jan Smuts turn-off, in the direction of town.
Fifteen children from a Toyota Condor taxi were taken to Red Cross Children's Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Two people from one of the other vehicles sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital.
Police were in attendance and are investigating the incident.
